This is an archive of the Defiance YouTube channel shortly before it was taken offline. I was in rehab following spinal surgery at the time so it was the most basic grab using
youtube-dl I could do at the
time with a laptop resting on my chest 😛 so only one resolution was downloaded. I scripted a basic
node.js app to grab the related thumbnails, saved the channel home page and next thing I knew the page was
gone. I have gone through the files to separate out the US videos so there are no dupes (Trion was haphazard in their UK, French and German releases, some dubbed, some subbed, most not included). 51 of 211 thumbnails didn’t download so I
had to use the saved page to ferret out the smaller thumbs on that page. In the end what you are seeing here is what you will get if you download the above-linked ZIP: this index page, individual pages for each video, and the associated videos
and thumbnails. In addition the
YouTube JSON data is included with references to the old information which appears to be thoroughly scrubbed from the site based on a sampling. My hope is someone will add these
files to more widely-known archives and potentially create a tribute YouTube channel, I just can’t anticipate if anyone would object to this portion of history being preserved.
