Advertising

The Advertising section is planned to house starting points for exploring how videogames have been advertised. While the focus is on print advertising from the magazines included, television advertising is important as well. You’ll find two Intellivision ads related to Lock ‘N’ Chase on that game’s Intellivision release page. Deciding on how to group things will be an important part of the alpha period.

As the same ad can appear in more than one magazine all advertising is grouped into “campaigns”s. In addition since the focus of this launch is the magazines themselves very little investigation into other constants has happened at this point. This relates to advertising in that company names have been taken from copyright notices on the ads themselves (where they exist) meaning sometimes the same advertiser has multiple names.

At the moment what you will find here is a holding place for links to the advertisers and campaigns but in "permalink" form rather than traditional naming standards.
