The Grid appeared first in Silicon Valley. They are an aggressive force of EGO constructs that are able to infect cybernetics and control the individual attached. They can also manifest as hard-light entities once the host is killed, or operate independently of a host all together. They possess devastating energy weaponry and their true goals remain a mystery.
