Factions are organizations in the Bay Area that offer Pursuits, Contracts, Missions and other options to ark hunters.
7th Legion
The 7th Legion is a decommissioned military unit that lives on as a mercenary company. They now specialize in battling Volge, Hellbug and Scrapper incursions.
Ark Hunter Bounties
The various factions of the Bay Area Frontier have agreed to provide ark hunters with additional compensation for contributing to any of their causes. These bounties provide both Purified Gulanite and Hunter Commendations.
Chimera
The group known as Chimera is a criminal syndicate that deal with the trade of highly unique items on the black market among other things. The only thing that will make them look your way is if you can facilitate a large scrip payout. Well, can you?
Defiant Few
The Defiant Few are what remains of Human and Votan soldiers who laid down their arms at the Battle of Defiance, defying the orders of their superior officers.
Echelon
Echelon is a private military corporation comprised of Human and Votan war veterans. Much closer to being “soldiers of fortune” rather than “hired security,” this mercenary organization works for the highest bidder. They provide clients with soldiers, techs and intelligence operatives in teams of varying size for single mission or operational terms. Unique among this PMC is that it also maintains its own manufacturing plant for weapons, gear and combat vehicles.
Paradise Territory
Paradise is a free territory in the Bay Area Frontier. This unincorporated “Free Territory” located north of the Golden Gate Bridge is guided by the wisdom of the Frontier Ambassador Ara Shondu. Her wide reaching connections and those of the Lawkeeper, Jon Cooper, allow them to grant special equipment to those who demonstrate that they can be trusted.
Soleptor Enterprises
Based out of the Bay Area, Soleptor Enterprises is owned by the Liberata mining magnate Varus Soleptor. As of 2045, SE expanded its services to include arms dealing, but with the local machinist and inventor Rosa Rodriguez refusing to work for Soleptor. Working with an Indogene machinist named Ghar Yewkhaji, SE has made a business out of salvaging weapons, refurbishing them and rebranding them as tech affordable arms.
Synthetic Genesis Technologies
Synthetic Genesis Technologies is a mysterious corporation, whose presence in the Bay Area has only recently been felt with the arrival of the Crusader, Sam, and the Grid threat he combats.
Tarr Family
The Tarr Family used brute force and wits to establish a powerful business in the town of Defiance. They are undoubtably one of the key factions there, with some business ties to Varus here in Paradise. With the traditional Castithan family structure in flux, it is up to you to keep the steady supply of goods from Paradise to Defiance.
Thorn Liro
The Thorn Liro is an underground blood circuit operated by the enigmatic Ferik. Few know their motives, but the rewards for membership drive many to try their hand in the arena.
Top-Notch Toolworks
Originally, Top-Notch Toolworks was a major robotics manufacturer that maintained a plant in the Bay Area. The plant was abandoned during the Pale Wars to be taken over by a skilled machinist named Amelio Rodriguez. Although Amelio has passed on, Top-Notch Toolworks remains a machine shop for the local mining and ranching communities. It recently expanded its services to include high tech arms: the specialty of its current owner and operator, Rosa Rodriguez, daughter of Amelio.
Von Bach Industries
Von Bach Industries rose from the ashes of the Pale Wars and began operating within the fledgling nation of the Earth Republic. Initially crafting advanced terrestrial weaponry, VBI has now moved onto alien and hybrid technologies that rival Votan designs. With CEO Karl Von Bach leading the Bay Area Expedition, COO Azumi Yoshida has stepped up to manage the company as well as oversee the more clandestine activities.
